Longing and Need

It's been a few weeks since the launch of my website and this here blog called "They That Remain," and as promised I'm here to share weekly what the Lord impresses upon my heart for you all. So here we GOOO;

Holiness, Holiness is what He longs for. Holiness it what He needs.

Now if you just read that line and a song rung in your spirit, know that it is a song, and you're not trippin... I changed the words. Why? Because if were honest... when singing that song, how often can you say you really meant what you were singing. Do you long for Holiness? Even knowing that it is what you NEED. Does your soul long for it? I, as well as some dear friends of mine(those I'm thinking of I can count on one hand) are the only ones that I know vocalize the need to change the words at times to a lot of these "Christian songs."

Just a heads up, this is going to be a bit of an uncomfortable read, but I'm thankful for the discomfort. The truth is offensive and uncomfortable, TO OUR FLESH. When walking with Christ, as true disciples, taking up our crosses and following Him, the walk is uncomfortable, heavy at times, but necessary for what is being produced. As we learn and grow by the Word of God, we can walk and live stronger by the Spirit. Doing so will not cause us to hesitate in sharing what God instructs us to say or do, because we are confident in the voice speaking to us!

So back to what I was saying, HOLINESS. God is longing for Holiness from His people. His Word, the Bible says, " be holy, for I am Holy." Our Heavenly Father is Holy, and He longs for us to be holy as He is!

My initial question, "do you truly long for holiness?" is one that I've been meditating on. Recently led of the Holy Spirit, the scripture, "be holy for I am holy", and the book of Ephesians, as well as the Book of Habakkuk, have been the scriptures I've meditated on for a few weeks now. {insert tip #1: if Holy Spirit has you meditating on one area of the Word, stay there... He is speaking and continue to listen.} Anywho, as I've been reading, and listening to what the Spirit of God is trying to reveal to my heart, there's a pruning and refining happening . Places within me that haven't been holy, He is cleaning them up. He is shining His light on the dark spaces, and I'm acknowledging what He is pointing out, and my response when these things are revealed is YES!

YES LORD, I will let you clean that up, and I will do that better, oh oop that spot too, and the spill over there... and so on and so forth. I want to be Holy, because He is holy! I want to be able to sing the words to these songs properly, and with a heart postured to the King. A heart, not only postured to the King, but submitted to a life of Holiness, so that the songs and words being released from my heart are pure and sweet smelling to Him!

Here me clearly, it takes knowing the Word, to know you're dirty over here or over there in the areas of your soul. The enemy is looking for any open door in your life to creep in and taint what God has deemed clean. When Jesus died for you, His blood now is the ransom for your sins. He rose again 3 days later, taking the keys from death, hell and the grave by this very action! He became the sacrifice so that you could have an opportunity at eternal life. Freedom. And because HE overcame the world, when you accept Him into your life, by believing He is the Son of God you too by the name of JESUS CHRIST, have that same power and authority living in YOU. He died, you believe, and now the old you before believing is GONE. You have died, to now LIVE in CHRIST! Through the free gift of salvation that we access by CHOICE!

So, choose Him today, if you haven't already. Choose to be Holy, and LONG FOR IT! HOLINESS is what you NEED, but it is also what HE wants from you! And if you have chose Him, keep choosing Him everyday. Let His light ring evident through your life, and respond YES when He highlights something He wants to clean up. Stay in your Word(the Bible), so you know when it is His voice speaking vs. the enemy trying to once again have a foothold in your life. The Word of God speaks about us not being ignorant of the devil's devices... and how do we do that? STAY IN THE WORD.

Everyday, I'm choosing to learn more about my Heavenly Father and His character. I'm studying the actions of His Son, that He sent to die for me, so I know how to walk the walk and spread the gospel honorably. I'm working hard to listen, but quickly and immediately RESPOND to Holy Spirit always. Not when I want to or hesitating, but acknowledging that He spoke and answering with my YES. That is relationship. Learning the other person, loving them where they are, and seeing where they are going. You know what's so special about getting to know a God that knows you already through and through? that as you seek to know Him back, He reveals the hidden things you haven't even seen, or known about yourself. And amidst learning these things, you are lavished in His Everlasting Love! ❤️‍🔥
